Meet Coach Tyrel Detweiler, the owner and head coach of The OH Line Academy.

 

As a former D1 Offensive Lineman at The University of Iowa, Team Chiropractor for the University of Memphis, and a certified strength and conditioning coach, Tyrel Detweiler has both extensive and broad knowledge on football training, strength training, and injury prevention.

 

Coach Detweiler earned All-State honors as a senior, All-Conference honors as a junior and senior, All-District honors as a junior and senior and was selected to participate in Iowa Shrine Bowl following senior season. He was also a standout in other sports, lettering in basketball and track and field.

As a member of the Iowa Hawkeyes, Tyrel was part of numerous success seasons including a 2009 Outback Bowl Championship and a 2010 BCS Orange Bowl Championship in which the Hawkeyes finished the season ranked 7th in the nation. 

Tyrel also earned an AAC West Championship in 2017 as the Team Chiropractor of the Memphis Tigers.

Coach Detweiler's passion for mentoring and coaching young offensive and defensive linemen led him to establish The OH Line Academy in 2019. With a goal of providing comprehensive support and mentorship to developing offensive and defensive linemen, Coach Detweiler is focused on providing the best training atmosphere possible for athletes in Columbus, Cincinnati, and all of Ohio.

Coach Mike Miranda

Offensive Line Coach

Hailing from Stow, Ohio, and with an unyielding passion for the game, Coach Mike Miranda embodies the principles of hard work and dedication. Joining The OH Line Academy coaching staff in 2023, Mike is a true testimony of perseverance and commitment to the pursuit of excellence, both on and off the field.

A relentless competitor, Coach Miranda has been forged by the fires of Penn State University's offensive line, under the guidance of Coach Phil Trautwein. He was a three year starter for Penn State at both the center and guard positions.

In addition to being a three year starter, Mike achieved the following accolades:

  • Second-team All-Big Ten laurels

  • Associated Press All-Big Ten second team

  • Phil Steele's All-Big Ten third team

  • Offensive Player of the Year in the Suburban League as a high school senior

 

Coach Miranda is fully committed to transforming our athletes into elite offensive linemen. As an integral part of The OH Line Academy, Mike  empowers young men to push their limits and strive for greatness.

Coach Rusty Feth

Coach Rusty Feth

Offensive Line Coach

Rusty brings with him an extensive wealth of experience playing at the collegiate level. Over the entirety of his career, Rusty has been a 5-year starter playing in almost 50 collegiate games. 

 

A native of Cincinnati, Rusty attended Colerain High School and achieved multiple high school honors including first-team pre-season All State, second-team Ohio Fall All-Star and first team All-Conference. High school honors. As a Senior, Rusty was a team captain and helped Colerain post a 14-1 record, advancing to the state championship game.

 

Rusty was a four year starter at Miami University from 2019 to 2022. Over those 4 years he started 34 career games, including 25 straight at center in the 2021 and 2022 season. Rusty earned second-team All-MAC honors in 2022, was named team Offensive Newcomer of the Year in 2019 and also earned academic All-MAC honors.

 

In 2023, Rusty transferred to the University of Iowa where he played in all 14 games with the Hawkeyes, starting 9 of them at left guard. Post-season, Rusty earned Honorable mention All-Big Ten by league coaches and media. In his lone season at Iowa, Rusty helped the Hawkeyes to a 10-4 record, a Big Ten West Championship, and a final ranking of 17th in the nation.

 

Rusty looks to extend his passion and knowledge of the game to the next generation of offensive linemen in the Cincinnati area. Rusty exemplifies the type of player that young athletes should aspire to be and that we wish to have as a coach at The OH Line Academy.
